FAQ

On line classes with Zoom. How does it work?

It’s quite simple and it works quite well.

Download the Zoom app for you device (iPhone/iPad, iMac, Android, Microsoft or Chrome extension…)

There is nothing to paid at your end for the use of the app. Yoga Santosha has paid as host no matter how long a class lasts.

When you register and paid for a class, you will receive a link, code and password. Connect ten (10) minutes before classe starts by clicking on the link to join the class.

For the sound, choose the audio option « Computer or Internet Audio ». Normally, the sound from my end is sufficient, but depending on your set-up and situation, you may want to wear headphones or put speakers on to hear better.

Zoom is a videoconference app that allows participants to see and hear each others. That allows me to interact with you. But you have a choice to turn off both the audio sound and the video when you wish at all times. So you can practice in pyjamas if you wish! You will always be able to hear and to see me.

General Behaviour

Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes before start of class so that you can settle quietly.

If you are late, please enter discreetly and place your mat quietly. Take a minute or two to relax, breathe softly and get into your practice before joining the rest of the class. If you arrive during the initial relaxation, please wait outside the room or sit near the door inside the room so as not to disturb the other participants. You can join the class afterwards.

Please turn off your mobile phone as vibration mode can disturb the class. If you absolutely need to keep your phone on, please let me know.

Equipment

Yoga mat and cushion or folded blanket for sitting on the floor. There are chairs if you need one. Perhaps a blanket or warm clothes for the relaxation at the end.

Clothing

Wear confortable clothes in which you can move freely and comfortably. Yoga is practiced barefoot but you may want to wear a pair of socks for the final relaxation.

Food

Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. We suggest you do not eat two or three hours prior to class or eat only a very light snack (fruit). If practicing yoga on a full stomach, you may experience cramps or nausea or feel uncomfortable.

Health conditions

It is always better to consult your doctor before starting a new program of physical exercise.

Please let me know about any health problem or condition that might affect your practice before the class or by email prior to class.

Most importantly, respect your limits. I am qualified to guide you during your yoga practice and to adapt postures according to your needs, but make sure you always follow my instructions. As a yoga student, your are entirely responsible for your practice, your security and your well-being. The responsibility to take a posture or not, to keep it or get out of it is all yours. Remember that yoga brings well-being, if it is not the case, then you are not in yoga. It is not the person who should adapt to yoga, but rather yoga to the person.
